Hyatt launches online store

The article www.hotelmarketing.com/index.php/content/article/061220_ is about online store launched by Hyatt. From now the clients can buy Hyatt product like a bed, a mattress online and 'can feel the Hyatt touch wherever they want'.

This a very interesting concept and is one of best way of fidelizing the clients. Besides it's a succesful strategy for appealing the clients who demand a lot:
  • It gives the customers the opportunity to relive the Hyatt experience at home
  • They feel valued
  • They can enjoy comfort and convenience
  • They are considered as fashionable and hip

Today hotels have to adapt to the incessantly changing needs, tastes, prefences and fashions in order to remain competitive in the flourishing hotel market and Hyatt hotels are mooving in the right way.

Best Western goes direct with travelers.com/hotel.de

The article http://www.hotelmarketing.com/index.php/content/article/061212 introduces to the readers the new strategic partnership between travelres.com and Best Western group. This partnership will be profitable for all parties. According to it : all the rate types and conditions are automatically displayed and the clients can use travelres. com as if they booked through the hotel's own website

I think this is the right strategic decision and will
  • inrease market share
  • improve customer service
  • bring innovations
  • lead to cost saving
  • a good example for other hotel groups

Hotels Tone Up Their Treadmills

The article http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/26/travel/26prac.html is devoted to the growing importance of fitness facilities in the hotel business. According to the revenue statistics health clubs have been a growing source of income for hotels. The managers got this concept and thats's why, today some hotels are expanding or building health clubs, others are adding personal trainers and exercise classes.

I think this is the right time for the hotel to start working out on this concept. For some time fitness centers have been on second place in hotel business. And it is known that today people are more and more health-conscious and fitness center or a health club is one of the main criteria of choosing a hotel. I do remember during my experience at Hilton La Defense (the main clients are businessmen) most of them were disappointed not finding a gym at the hotel. The guests want to be able to work out on the road the same way they do at home. That's why the hotel should rethink over this problem in order to satisfy the guest's interests.
